Aragon
The Problem
Aragon has been building a lot of DAO management tools for helping people launch their projects in an efficient way, by allowing creators to configure their DAO in terms of aspects such as desired network, membership governance, tokenomics, and presentation.
Aragon is looking to recognize DAO creators as the early pioneers of building organizations on-chain using the Aragon tech stack.
Multiple DAOs are currently being launched and Aragon would like to provide their creators with great on-chain memory, given how important this milestone is for both the Creators and Aragon Community.
The Solution
Allowing creators to mint a POAP is a great way to recognize them about their launch, as it represents a digital asset that has an associated nice story and how it's connected to other people and stories. Creators can show off their POAP with the community and can share the happiness of building in the Aragon tech stack.
IndieDAO developed a set of software components to accomplish this goal: first, a backend service will be listening for a smart contract event representing the DAO launch and from there reach out to the POAP API to get a code to be assigned to the creator via an off-chain allowlist that will be tracking the issuance and usage of the claim codes using the on-chain event record as the single source of truth. Finally, minting of the POAP will be performed by the creator via a friendly app where they just need to connect their wallet, and if applicable, they just sign a message to get a nice POAP for launching an Aragon DAO.
